Who is Kurtis Liston?

I am 34 years old, a proud son of a Vietnam veteran, a single father, horticulturist, political activist, speaker, author, radio commentator, small business owner, entrepreneur, chairman of the Summit County Libertarian Party, talk show host, and YOUR candidate for ward 1, Akron city council. 


I have spent all but the first two years of my life here in Highland Square. I am a proud graduate of King School, St.Vincent- St. Mary High School ( Class of ‘95 ), and Cuyahoga Community College ( Class of ‘10 ) . 


I am running for council ; not only to better serve the citizen’s of ward 1 but also to protect, as well as, nurture, every ward 1 residents rights! It is well beyond time to end corruption and cronyism, in Akron politics, especially the practice of political appointments! 


The time has come for real, rational, political opposition on council. As a Libertarian, I am not beholden to failed political ideologies and I serve NO master! Now is the time to have our voices heard and respected. I look forward to serving ALL citizens of ward 1 and helping to return prosperity to the wonderful City of Akron.
